In the last few years, we've all learned to cut back. For some it's a little, for others a lot, but job losses, a tough economy, rising prices and more have caused everyone regardless of income to become a little more conscious about our spending and budgets.?
Our family is no different. Instead of our pre-kid evenings out, concerts, and fine dining, we've been doing more meals at home and entertaining w/ family and friends. Just because you're watching your spending doesn't mean you can't have a life, and it's still possible to have get togethers, BBQ's and parties?on a budget.?
One of my favorites this summer for entertaining on the cheap has been?FlopFlop Wines.? FlipFlop Wines aims to offer customers expressive, well-balanced wines that evoke just what the grapes inside intended, without being over-wrought or over-explained, and that can be enjoyed at any occasion. At an affordable price tag, these wines are great for any occasion and are available in Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and now Moscato.
The Cabernet?Sauvignon?was really full of flavor and you could taste the berries and black pepper. This one would be a great dinner party wine for italian fare. The Chardonnay?was a little lighter and was my favorite. We served it slightly chilled and I liked the fruity and vanilla flavors. This is a lighter wine and worked great at our pot-luck of salads, pasta salads, fruit and bread.?
All?the FlipFlop Wines?I've?had the opportunity to try?had a great taste and fun labels that would make them great to take to a BBQ or?as a hostess gift to a fall get together. They're also affordable too, with an average retail price of just $7 a bottle, you can afford to try one or all of them, even on a meager budget.I also love that FlipFlop Wines?supports a great cause as well. FlipFlop Wines has partnered with Soles4Souls, a charity dedicated to putting shoes on more than 100,000 feet of children in need. For every bottle sold, they will distribute a pair of shoes to a child who needs them. Now when you indulge -- you can help a great cause as well.
